2021 komt wederom volledig in de ban van de wolven: met de aankondiging van hun nieuwe studioalbum ‘Call Of The Wild’ heeft Powerwolf, de hogepriester van de heavy metal, de aandacht van fans en critici weer getrokken en gaan ze naadloos verder met hun unieke succesverhaal!
De eerste single van het aankomende album heet ‘Beast Of Gévaudan’ en neemt de luisteraar mee op een indrukwekkende reis naar de geschiedenis van het oude Frankrijk. De majestueus geënsceneerde videoclip met zijn verbluffende beelden doet de harten van de fans al sneller kloppen na de eerste paar seconden.
Matthew Greywolf over de nieuwe single: “We are more than proud to present ‘Beast of Gévaudan’, the first song off our upcoming album, ‘Call Of The Wild’. The story behind the song couldn’t fit better into the world of Powerwolf: It’s about a mysterious beast that killed countless people in the south of France at the end of the 18th century. The beast was never caught and there have always been many legends surrounding the events, up to the interpretation of the clergy, who saw the beast as ‘God’s punishment’ or even as a ‘savior of mankind from the worldly and sinful existence.’”
Het album is opnieuw tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met het producer duo Jens Bogren en Joost van den Broek. Dit meesterwerk zal op 16 juli 2021 een nieuw hoofdstuk aan de geschiedenis van de band toevoegen. Het achtste studioalbum met 11 songs zal zowel oude als nieuwe Powerwolf liefhebbers bedienen met hun bekende klassieke handelsmerken.

‘Call Of The Wild’ is de opvolger van hun studioalbum ‘Sacrament Of Sin’ uit 2018 en is het vervolg op het onnavolgbare succesverhaal van de band en bewijst eens te meer dat ze onbetwist op de troon van het genre zitten.
