Mono Mind is een project gemaakt door Per Gessle van Roxette. In de loop van de jaren zijn er al vier singles, re-mixen en een album uitgebracht, die allemaal internationale bekendheid hebben gekregen en goed zijn onthaald in zowel Frankrijk als de VS. In de VS omvat het succes een prestigieuze zes weken durende eerste positie in de dance-hitlijst, evenals topposities op iTunes Electronica en Amazon Electronica lijsten. In Frankrijk werd Mono Mind tweemaal genomineerd voor de NRJ DJ Awards 2018, in de categorieën “beste groep” en “de beste clubhit van het jaar”.
Het brein achter het Mono Mind Project is Roxette’s Per Gessle, een van ’s werelds meest gevestigde en succesvolle songwriters met enorme hits op de wereldwijde hitlijsten op zijn naam, gedurende meer dan drie decennia.
“After basically living in a recording studio for almost forty years I tried to find new ways of creating pop music. I wanted to do something I’d never done before. A new challenge. Still pop, of course (that’s in my DNA!) but created and presented in a new manner
I started fooling around with different gadgets working with my own voice, recording in different octaves and different keys just to see what might pop up. In the end of the day it’s all about the voices. We all focus on the voices when we listen to pop music. With Mono Mind I can explore new musical paths with where different collaborators and different vocalists.
As this is more than an “artist project” I don’t want to front it myself so I created cartoon characters to illustrate Mono Mind. How gorgeous! I had so much fun. Still do.”, aldus Per Gessle.
De aankomende Mono Mind-single ‘All Over Your Body’ is gemaakt in samenwerking met zangeres Helena Josefsson en zal op 9 april worden uitgebracht op Spinnin Records.
