Legacy Recordings, een divisie van Sony Music Entertainment, brengt op 1 april ‘BeforeAfter’ uit, het eerste solocarrière overzicht van Daryl Hall. Op dezelfde datum start Daryl Hall zijn eerste solotour in 10 jaar met concerten op historische podia zoals NYC’s Carnegie Hall en Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, met special guest Todd Rundgren.
Samengesteld door Daryl Hall bevat ‘BeforeAfter’ dertig tracks, geselecteerd van zijn 5 soloalbums, van de in 1980 door Robert Fripp geproduceerde ‘Sacred Songs’ tot ‘Laughing Down Crying’ uit 2011, mede geproduceerd door T-Bone Wolk, die helaas overleed voordat het album werd uitgebracht. De verzameling bevat ook 6 nog niet eerder uitgebrachte opnames van de baanbrekende TV en webseries ‘Live From Daryl’s House’ die hij lanceerde in 2007 met het toen vernieuwende idee van “playing with my friends and putting it up on the internet.” Special guests op de Live From Daryl’s House tracks zijn onder anderen Todd Rundgren, Dave Stewart en Monte Montgomery.
“I picked this collection of songs from my solo albums because I feel they encapsulate certain periods of my career”, aldus Hall. “It also shows the diversity of working with collaborators like Robert Fripp or Dave Stewart. And, having some tracks from LFDH on it, really makes the compilation complete.”
