Gisteren bracht Adrian Crowley ‘Bread and Wine’ uit, met een handgetekende video uit het Crowley verhalenboek met een cast van antropomorfe personages. Een Ierse seashore ballade met elegante strijkers en zachte gitaar, ‘Bread and Wine’ is een ode aan outcasts (“The stray dogs here follow me around / they seem to know their kind”). ‘Bread and Wine’ is de tweede single van Crowley’s aanstaande album, het door John Parish geproduceerde ‘The Watchful Eye of The Stars’, dat uit zal komen op 30 april 2021.
Over de video zegt Crowley: “The stars of the video for Bread and Wine were made with a scalpel, pen and a drawing book. It was a curious thing to see the scenarios unfold there on my kitchen table, late one windy night. It’s quite spooky, in a way, how just a few dots and lines on a page can conjure someone up. All those characters spying at the window; like ghosts from someone’s past. They all seem to have an eerie and playful presence.”
Crowley toert dit najaar met ‘The Watchful Eye of The Stars’ op zak, en komt dan ook naar ons land.
