Florence + the Machine brengt vandaag drie nieuwe tracks uit: twee nieuwe titels, ‘Too Much Is Never Enough’ en ‘I Will Be’, en een cover van Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’. Florence + the Machine nam de nieuwe songs op voor wat nu al de grootste video game release van 2016 wordt genoemd: Final Fantasy XV. De tracks zijn zowel te horen in de game als onder de officiële trailers.
Florence Welch over deze bijzondere samenwerking: “I’ve always seen FINAL FANTASY as a beautiful and creative game so I don’t think I could have wor ked with another video game. It wouldn’t have made sense. In some ways, the landscape of FINAL FANTASY and my own internal landscape seemed to fit quite well, it’s mythical and beautiful and epic.”
Florence + the Machine nam de drie tracks op in de Air Studio’s in London met producer en componist Emile Haynie (Kanye West, Lana Del Ray). ‘Too Much’ is een epische track, waarop Florence’s rijke, emotionele stem wordt begeleid door strijkers, ‘I Will Be’ is een meeslepende ballad, terwijl Florence de Ben E. King-klassieker van een melancholiek randje voorziet.
