Cyndi Lauper, Toby Keith, Jerry Garcia, Linda Perry (Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’, Pink, Alicia Keys), country muziek songwriter Bobby Braddock en Willie Dixon (‘Hoochie Coochie Man’) gaan op 18 juni allemaal toetreden tot de beroemde Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jerry Garcia en songwriter Robert Hunter treden tesamen toe voor hun werk met The Grateful Dead.
Songwriters Hall President en CEO Linda Moran vertelde: “Our 2015 lineup of inductees represents the rich diversity of American musical styles — Rock, Country, Blues and Pop — that have captivated the world over the past six decades. Each one of these brilliant music creators have written instantly recognizable classics, songs that are both of their time and timeless.”
De 46e, jaarlijks gehouden introductie zal gaan plaatsvinden in het Marriott Marquis in New York City. Garcia en Dixon treden postuum toe. Tom Petty, Vince Gill, Elvis Costello en Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds stonden ook op de lijst van genomineerden.
