Dit jaar is het 25 jaar geleden dat Level 42's met dubbel platina bekroonde hit album 'Running In The Family' gereleased werd. Om deze mijlpaal te vieren, is er in samenwerking met Mark King een speciale zeer gelimiteerde 25th anniversary box set samengesteld. De box bestaat uit het (geremasterde) originele album en 12” mixes, plus een tweede cd met de titel ‘Running In The Family – acoustic re-interpretations 25 years on…’, met daarop een aantal exclusieve nummers die recentelijk zijn opgenomen door Level 42’s zanger & bassist Mark King.
Disk 3 bevat het concert wat de band gaf in 1987 in het Wembley stadion. Disk vier bevat de documentaire ‘Fait Accompli: Onstage Offstage Backstage’'. Dit is een registratie van een jaar uit het leven van Level 42. Op de dvd staat het Wembley concert, alsmede de promo video's van 'Lessons In Love' , 'Running In The Family' , 'To Be With You Again', 'It’s Over', 'Children Say' en 'Fashion Fever'. Bij deze exclusieve box zal ook een gesigneerde foto van Mark King zitten (dit geldt alleen voor de eerste 250 stuks!) en ook 4 foto's van de andere bandleden plus replica's van de originele tourflyer en het 28 pagina's tellend tourprogrammaboekje, een 40 pagina's tellend boekje met foto's, memorabilia en een interview met Mark King.
'Running In The Family' was Level 42’s zevende en ook hun meest succesvolle album. Het piekte op de 2e plaats en stond maar liefst 54 weken in de Britse hitlijsten, In ons land haade het album de 1e plaats in de album top 40. Van het album kwamen 5 hitsingles, te weten 'Lessons in Love’, ‘Running in the Family’, ‘ To Be With You Again’, ‘It’s Over’, en ‘Children Say’.
Over de akoestische opnames vertelde Mark King: “Having the opportunity to re-visit the songs of an album that meant so much to me, and re-interpret them with the benefit of 25 years hindsight, was a real pleasure. The only rules I gave myself were that I should play them all on an acoustic guitar. I nearly succeeded. I hope you enjoy the ‘new’ old stuff.” Over het voor het eerst op dvd beschikbaar zijn van 'Fait Accompli' vervolgde hij: “Fait Accompli combines all the elements that made Level 42 one of the world’s biggest bands.
