‘Tearing At The Seams’ is de opvolger van de succesvolle titelloze debuutplaat van Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, die onder andere de gouden status behaalde in de USA.
Voor die debuutplaat had Rateliff alle demo’s voor een groot stuk zelf ontwikkeld. Bij dit tweede album kwamen The Night Sweats er veel sneller aan te pas. De band is zo lang samen op tournee geweest, dat ze de ervaring in de studio nu ook samen wilden delen.’Rateliff: “I want —and I need— everybody to feel like they’re a part of this band. I want them to feel like they’re contributing artistically and emotionally to the experience of writing and creating this music. We’ve all had to make sacrifices to be in The Night Sweats and I want them all to know that it’s worth something.” Producer Richard Swift (The Shins, The Black Keys) zat opnieuw achter de knoppen.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats zijn: Nathaniel Rateliff (vocals, guitar), Joseph Pope III (bass), Patrick Meese (drums), Luke Mossman (guitar), Mark Shusterman (keys), Andy Wild (saxophone), Scott Frock (trumpet) and Jeff Dazey (saxophone).
Op 4 en 5 april speelt de band in Paradiso.
Vanaf 9 maart ligt het album in 2 versies in de winkel: Een standaard witte vinyl versie en CD.
