The Jam heeft aangekondigd dat ze binnenkort een nieuwe, 5 discs tellende box set zullen gaan uitbrengen getiteld ‘1997’. De set wordt uitgebracht ter viering van het 40-jarig jubileum van hun debuutalbum ‘In The City’ en zijn opvolger ‘This Is The Modern World’. De box set bevat geremasterde versies van beide albums alsmede nog niet eerder uitgebrachte tracks en live opnames.
Ook bevat de box een 144 pagina’s tellend boekwerk, met daarin liner notes, diverse foto’s, reviews en memorabilia uit 1977 en een aantal briefkaarten.
