De Amerikaanse rock’n’roller Ron Gallo bracht op 3 februari zijn debuutalbum ‘Heavy Meta’ uit via New West Records. Ron Gallo, een millennial afkomstig uit Nashville met een afro, die zich zorgen maakt over de wereld en de mensheid. Daarbij waren de afgelopen jaren emotioneel en mentaal onrustig met verlies en verwarring, maar ook interne groei. ‘Heavy Meta’ is hier het resultaat van.
In een open brief aan de wereld begint Ron Gallo zo: “I straddle the fence between two mindsets –
1. The world is completely fucked and,
2. The universe is inside you.”“It is someone (me) asking “what can i do?” and the answer being to start digging within for my own truth and talking about what i see in the world that needs to be talked about, and as it turns out when you step out of the illusion and purely observe things as they are, a lot of it is pretty hilarious. It’s a necessary assault on humanity (myself included) and I’m having a lot of maniacal, fuzzed out “fun” with it.”- aldus Ron Gallo.
Heavy Meta bevat 11 nummers vol fuzz, chaotische structuren en de oer-geluiden van een Fender jaguar gitaar. Samen met de bass (Joe Bissiri) en drums (Dylan Sevey) alles wat nodig was voor dit album. Heavy Meta is het 4.929.647e album allertijden.
Heavy Meta zal aan het Nederlandse publiek worden gepresenteerd op 25 mei in het Stroomhuis in Eindhoven.
