Die andere legendarische band uit Liverpool, Echo & The Bunnymen, legt momenteel de laatste hand aan hun twaalfde studio album, tevens hun eerste sinds 2009. Het album krijgt Meteorites als titel, werd geproduceerd door Youth (Killing Joke, The Verve) en komt via Caroline in de Benelux uit op 28 april. Samen met de albumrelease kondigde de band ook een concerttour door Europa en UK aan. Op 8 mei 2014 staat Echo & The Bunnymen in Tivoli, Utrecht.
De band werd opgericht in 1978 en was een belangrijke invloed op bands als Flaming Lips, Coldplay en Pavement.
Meteorites wordt een essentiële toevoeging aan hun repertoire, en wordt omschreven als “an intimate song cycle written by Ian McCulloch”.
