KT Tunstall scoorde in 2005 haar hit ‘Black Horse & The Cherry Tree’, die bij iedereen nog steeds bekend in de oren klinkt. Haar debuut album ‘Eye To The Telescope’ uit 2004 verkocht maar liefst 5 miljoen exemplaren en hierna bleef ze een vaste waarde in de popwereld. Ze bewees dat ze naast een straffe singer-songwriter ook nog eens een spectaculaire live-performer is. Ze heeft al heel de wereld rondgetoerd en werd genomineerd voor de Grammy van Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Deze zomer was ze mee op tour met The Pretenders, Simple Minds en Barenaked Ladies en in 2019 keert ze terug naar de Benelux met shows in Leuven, Amsterdam en Luxemburg.
De laatste jaren waren een creatieve hergeboorte voor Tunstall. Ze verhuisde na haar scheiding naar de westkust van de VS. In 2016 lanceerde ze ‘Kin’, het eerste album van een trilogy waarvan haar nieuwe album ‘Wax’ nu het tweede deel is. De fans hebben de catchy single ‘The River’ ongetwijfeld al ontdekt. ‘Wax’ werd geproducet door Nick McCarthy, stichtend lid van miljoenen verkopende band Franz Ferdinand, in co-productie met het duo MyRiot (London Grammar, Birdy). In 2018 won KT al een award voor Inspirational Artist op de Women In Music Awards van Music Week.
Tunstall zegt zelf over haar nieuwe album: “I knew before I started writing that I wanted it to be an electric guitar record. It had to be visceral, about the physical, and the weight of that, and the obstacles of that. It’s a record about human-ness, which we so often just write off as ‘flaws’.” “it’s about wanting to escape the madness in the world, escaping bad relationships, and wanting to be washed clean -emancipation through nature”
Klaar voor een nieuw hoofdstuk keert ze begin volgend jaar terug naar Benelux met 3 headline shows :
